Safar which means ‘Journey’ is an artwork from the series ‘Main Hoon Raahi’ that depicts the various emotions which an artist goes through during the process. It talks about the ups and downs, struggles and all kinds of experiences that make us who we are and where we are. This piece is a frame by frame animation video that conceptualises various stages of one’s journey and the colours and tones in this artwork have been chosen to depict the transitions from colourless to colourful and from dark to light. It narrates the story of an independent artist who is walking on the path of life. He is scared and unaware of what will unfold next but constantly makes efforts to keep walking. This urge and enthusiasm to keep working hard lead to a series of events that completely transform his journey and guide him towards a new ray of hope, a new perspective altogether about the ‘Safar’. No matter how big the hurdles are, how dark the time is, maybe the situations are completely against us but all we need to do is just keep going. It's about never giving up and doing what you truly love because there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
